85mm 1.8G Purple Fringing

Hi,

I have recently bought my first Nikon DSLR and Nikon 85mm 1.8G to go along with it primarily to shoot portrait pictures with shallow DOF. While I am amazed by the sharpness this lens produces even wide open, I am somewhat disappointed by the purple fringing (I think this is what is called, but I don't have much knowledge about this) this lens produces wide open even in the center of the frame. I am not so sure if this is normal for this lens or if I may have received a bad sample as I have read many reviewers saying the CA is very well controlled on this lens especially compared to the previous version of this lens - 85mm 1.8D.

I have attached a couple of pictures - one with no exposure compensation and another with -1 EV. I have also attached a basic AF testing result.

I would appreciate any advice from experienced users of this lens as to if this is normal or if I should exchange this lens for another sample.

Thanks in advance.

Kumar
