Rather than getting the Olympus 14-150 f4.0-5.6, I would much rather get the Olympus Zuiko ED 12-60mm f/2.8-4.0 (for the same price) and get one good prime lens to go with it.

Well, that's nearly twice the price, around $900+ new, $600+ used.

The M.Zuiko 12-50 f3.5-6.3 though gives you only about a stop less light, is available at reasonable prices ($260 for a refurb), and is a much better fit, at just over 1/3 the weight, plus with electronic zoom and a dedicated macro mode.

Hopefully it will change in the future, who knows, but for now I will wait and see. Who knows, a 1" very efficient 16MP sensor in a fixed lens camera may come out before then with a very sharp 24-120mm f2.8-4.0 and I won't have to wait :-

One thing won't change, there will always be people who are willing to spend $2000+ to have all the latest and greatest, and camera makers will keep improving things in order to sell to them.
