Bird shot with 1360mm lens. (2 imgs)

Pentax K-01 + Pentax-F 1.7X AF Adapter + Nikon TC301 2X TC + Nikon 400mm f2.8 lens (1360mm). Lens set to f4, 1/1000s, ISO1600, manually prefocused then autofocused to lock on. The conditions were not great for shooting like this, the wind was blowing quite hard. However, I simply wanted to check distance and size of a bird that would fill the frame. This bird is about 40 feet (12 meters) distance. This bird is about twice the size of a sparrow. The second image below is just a crop from the first image to show a bit of how sharp this combo is. This combo could be useful in certain situations and conditions.

Note: One thing I learned is that when the battery is about to run out on this K-01, the white balance (WB) goes really screwy.

Ron - 'We don't have time to go take pics this afternoon Carl.'
Carl - 'What do you mean? It will only take 1/1000s.'
'Keep your eyes looking forward. However, glance back now and then to see where you've come from. It will put a smile on your face.' ~ brandrx
