Re: Good Camera Strap to Go with the E-X Series

Since getting the ZD300mm I found the neck strap on my E-5 was getting in the way, and was ending up getting twisted and tangled all the time, and was a hinderance when shooting. This combo is too heavy  and way too long to be hung around my neck anyway, so I've taken the strap off and just use an Olympus wrist strap with the HLD-4 'permanently' attached. Wow what a difference!

When out in the bush on a shoot I carry the combo in a Tamrac 5793 Super Telephoto Lens Pack  (highly recommended)  and if I take a fall the pack will look after the camera and I can have 2 hands free to save myself

As for straps and harnesses that rely on the tripod mount to take the (dangling and bouncing) weight of the camera and lens - no thanks, not for me. Those mount points are designed for static loads where the camera is sitting on a tripod.
