Re: 45mm: some thoughts

I noticed some soft shots at 45mm f/1.8 with my first photo walk, and I think it might be due to slight rear focus that isn't present all the time, or maybe just focusing on hairlight.  Try making your focus point smaller to get added precision (press OK and use the scroll dial if using single point).

I think newer firmware on NX300 might have fixed any focus issue though as I didn't notice it the second time I went out.  Definitely an improvement from 1.8 to 2.8, but it should still be sharp at f/1.8.  Maybe try DMF focus with magnification to make sure you can't get it sharper?  If you are working with RAW maybe add a touch more sharpening at f/1.8 (in Lightroom I tend to hit the preset for "Sharpen Faces" or "Sharpen Scenic" as appropriate.
