Can you use Nikon glass on a Pentax body?

Hi all,

Just curious, can you use an adapter (fotodiox, etc) to mount a Nikon lens to a Pentax body?

Assuming you lose AF capability, but:

1) Do these adapters work?

2) Any major risk of damage to either the lens or the camera body?

3) If you have used Nikon lenses with a Pentax body successfully, do you have any images available to share?  Curious as to how good the end results are as far as IQ.

4)  Who makes the best adapters for this?  I've only seen the ones by Fotodiox so far. Not sure if anyone else also makes these. They don't seem to be made for hard use. Basically, mount  an adapter on every lens you intend to use, so as not to have to switch the adapter between multiple lenses.

I am interested in mounting my old Nikon 180 f 2.8 to a Kx.
