I just noticed in your first post you're a young photography hobbyist. If I'm correct and you're serious with this hobby then you should make sure the camera does not a become a nuisance but instead is fun to keep using and gives you enough headroom to learn.
So pick a recent(ish) Rebel with at least a big 3" display at the back that gives you instant feedback on your pictures. The 300D is horrible in that respect. I would look around for a modern Rebel (550D and onwards) because all of them are suitable to learn about lighting, exposure, composition and RAW post processing and provide roughly the same good image quality. This would leave budget for extras like books, software, lenses and flash.
