Is "shoot" any better?

I am not sure "shoot", "grab", "take" and even "make" are immune to criticism.

But all these things are just descriptive, no more. The result is not defined by them.

We can call that result "work", or "a piece", or "an artwork", or "hack work", "oeuvre", "journalism", "a picture", "a photo", "a snapshot", "documentation", etc etc and this is also just descriptive and our experience of looking at this is once again, not defined by the term used.

After all - is this basically a verbal, or a visual activity? If we are in any doubt about that... best keep silent IMO.
