Jim, thanks for all this info and for the link.  In view of the info you gave me above,  I think the Standard version would be fine for me.  I have about 15,000 35mm slides from trips dating back to the mid 70', and need to go through them to  select maybe 100-200 to scan, just for my own digital files.  I would be doing any pp with CS6. I don't have any negs or other photo files, so any other use I might find would be negligible in light of my use.
