We have both here, and I'd have to say I would not recommend either for your purposes.

The E-P1 is a great camera, but not for low light - and the image stabilisation isn't particularly good, either.

The E-PM1 is slightly better, and comes with a much better kit lens; but I don't like the handling compared to the E-P1, mainly because there are not enough external controls.

I doubt if either will perform as a well as your G3, even without stabilisation.
