I use a T2i with my 7D, and I think the 100D would be better in every way than the T2i.  Consider the kit lenses (18-55 f/3.5-5.6 IS and 55-250 f/4-5.6 IS) as inexpensive, light, and optically decent options for the 100D, or of course the newer pancake kit lenses.  But any Canon lens will work fine, and don't worry about the balance.

Do you often use your T2i instead of the 7D ? If so, in which occasions ? When using the T2i, you don't regret not to have taken the 7D instead ?

I do also still have the 55-250 which I have never used anymore since I purchased my 70-200 f4; however with the 100D I might use it again.

The 100D would be use for snapshot types of pictures when I know that the trip I do (a day trip or type of holidays eg. Disneyland) will not allow me to do "better" photography because of the location or due to crowd or time restrcitions (eg. at Disneyland I don't need to have a L lens and a 60D to take a picture of my children with Mickey Mouse )

I hope that a 100D with my 17-55 2.8 and a 55-250 will be small and light enough, and still be good in quality.

If the 17-55 2.8 will still be too heavy, I could always take instead my 30 1.4.
