Man, since i bought my S5 PRO a couple months ago, Comming from Nikon, my photos are just comming out differently with more life to them and i really really like Fuji's color output, and i can honestly say that i am keeping my S5, possibly forever.

But, i am also in a need for a second body with higher ISO capability for my low light shooting, I WANT to stay with Fuji and would like to get an X-PRO1, but honestly i think these cameras are still over priced, compared to what everyone else has.  What i mainly don't like is the significant slow auto focus, although i think i would probably get used to its AF limitations, but the prices are just killing me.  I am sorry, that's just my opinion.  Some people have already told me that their lenses are made out of metal, high quality and this and that, but those lenses are tiny and wide open they are not the greatest either, and i also think they are over priced.

I know many will start to jump on my for saying this, but wouldn't you guys preffer  that Fuji actually lowered their prices.  I know the X-PRO1 was selling at a much higher price originally, but i still think they just cost too much.  That's actually THE only thing preventing me from moving completely to Fuji.

I think the most i would pay for a X-PRO1 is around $999 new.

For an XE-1 i would probably pay $699 new.

18-55 lens $500.

Im i the only guy that think the prices are too high and will most of you here will defend those prices to remain high??  If this would be the case then might as well just buy the amazing and fast new D7100 for only $1199.

Price is always relevant to what one is willing to pay.  Is Leica over priced.  Some would say yes others would say no.

I paid a premium introductory price for my X Pro and I would do it again in second.  I have all the lenses with the 55-200 on order.  I also shoot Nikon (although I shoot is relative since the D700 is basically a paperweight since I got the Fuji) and I feel very certain the Fuji lenses are fantastic.  I'm not comparing them to the D series but the G series lenses.  The Fuji lenses are as good as the 24mm G, 35mm G, and 85mm G.  I also had but sold the 24-70 and 70-200 G's.  They are faster than the Fuji zooms, but weigh a lot more too.

I could not be happier with the upgrade on the X100.

The 18-55 is very fairly priced given it's performance.  I would venture to say that the "soft" people are the folks I see on this forum that shoot test charts in the dark or yarn balls.  I might try reading what some actual professional photographers say about the lens and look at their work unless you like taking pictures of brick walls.  I personally don't have time for that.

BTW-  I have an S5 Pro too.  Great camera.  I use it for portrait work.  It's probably the only reason I still have the Nikon.  I sure wish my X Pro lenses worked on it.

Yeah, can you imagine being able to use the same lenses on each body, that would have been fantastic!  As i have said, i really don't have a big problem with the lenses, but some people do complain saying they are a bit overpriced, not so much for the internal optics, but for the exterior feel and size itself.  I understand these hardware is compact, that's the whole point of it, that's why i want one to complement my S5, so the lenses price i really don't have a problem with, and is true what is said, "lenses are forever", but these bodies are not and i think they cost too much for what's already out there.

One thing is for sure, i am  leaning more towards Fuji, and yes, i might just have to wait for prices to go down, which i believe Fuji IS going to have to lower them if they want to sell more, based on the competition's prices.  I am glad you are liking your camera.
