SSDs are very reliable these days - I think more so than mechanical HDDs.  Still, that's why I never use RAID 0 arrays or even single drives - SSDs or HDDs - as storage for anything critical - but I do backup my system image regularly. If I had two more SATA III ports I'd have put four 256BG SSDs in RAID 10 for the system drive instead of the pair of 512's, not because it ups performance over a twin SSD RAID 0 (its a case of diminishing return), but because it is safer than either a single SSD or a RAID 0 pair (and there is a slight bump in performance as well, but its not linear).
