Why Mirrorless cameras and Micro 4/3rds, in particular, are important to me.

Most people that buy DSLR have zero clue what they are doing, they always shoot the kit lens and nothing else, they just get it because they think oh i'm pro now.

I can't comment as to whether or not people think they are a "pro," but otherwise I think your math is correct, insofar as Canikon DSLRs are concerned. To be specific: more than 50% of the Canon and Nikon DSLR cameras purchased (yesterday, today, or tomorrow) will never have any lens other than the lens(es) purchased with the kit attached.

I would further venture that most (more than 50%) Canikon cameras have 99% of their shots taken in auto or "P" mode over the lifetime of the camera.

That is *not* to say such a thing is good or bad, or acceptable or unacceptable. Canikon sells a lot of cameras, most are not sold to pros (specific models might be, but not over the whole product line). Most of the time I see a Canikon it is not in a pro's hands, and the camera is on auto or "P" mode with a lens that does not get wider than f/3.5.

And most notably, whoever is holding the camera seems to be satisfied with their purchase.

So what are we arguing over? Sales figures? How does the sale of a specific camera affect the shots I take with it, or shots with a different camera?
