Battery for the Sigma DP1 merrill
I just bought the DP1 merrill, which will arrive in a few days. I can't find the kind of battery it uses and I would like to buy at least a spare one. Can you please tell me which battery to get? Thanks!
for my DP2Merrill (same battery I believe) I have the 2 which came with it, 2 Ricoh brand and 2 Wasabi brand. Other users have similar, see this thread http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3454378#forum-post-51171417
I see you're in Spain, I'm not sure that the inexpensive Wasabi is available there, but the Ricoh and Sigma branded ones should be available... at the time I bought my camera, no Sigma spare batteries were available yet in the US. Ricoh fit perfectly, one of the Wasabi is tight but usable. Other people have had to cut/modify some different Wasabi stock numbers, so they're not perfect...but inexpensive.
Thank you, Sandy. I just read that it is the BP-41 battery. I bought two, let's hope they work.
Happy with the Merrill? I used to love my DP1, despite fighting colors and the Sigma program. Any different now with the Merrills?
Other users of (original) DPs plus the DPxMerrill cameras have some comments on this thread
I find the cameras rather different.. but lately I've been controlling the 'color' and output better I think. the resolution in the Merrills is awesome... but you may have to adjust some shooting techniques... I have. Plus the Merrill files are LARGE. You need a computer with good RAM ... and some good storage capacity! Colormodes are nice too, I tend to use standard colormode and landscape mode a lot... which have more saturation and character I think than the neutral colormode which other users prefer. Vivid is usually too.... vivid.
