simple fix for most firmware is dont buy a camera in its 1st 6 months.

That might sound a bit negative, but its quite sensible.

Heh, actually I gave that same advice multiple times. I was cured pretty fast from buying "new untested" after few burns. Neither of them was Samsung tho, I think its plague of pretty much every today camera.
D800 - left AF sensor, green cast, decentered sensors

D600 - oil and dust on sensor directly from factory, more oil and pieces until you hit around 5000 clicks (that means if I ever wanted D600, I will let someone else click 10k on it :D).

5DMK3 - light leak

D7000 - AF problems, hotpixels
I rather wont go into depths with Sony, suffice to say that A77 when it was "new" was horribly slow and bugged camera.
Seems lately early customers are more like betatesters. Guess its cheaper that way. Btw. neither more expensive companies are perfect, Leica users know that too.

I believe it comes down to people who wants ,needs and have to own the camera immediately versus people who waits until the price goes down and everything is set before they buy the camera. let's face it, there is no perfect camera system and early adopters are always faced with such problems of which are may or may not be deal-breakers for their use. although the funny thing about some non-owners is that they may complain about the video basing on the findings of other owners despite the fact that they will never or very rarely use it nor would it affect them shooting candid videos, jpegs complaints eventhough they don't shoot jpegs, and so forth and so on. of course there are those people with valid reasons for their use and there are those that are just looking for an excuse not to purchase. and despite the fact of the shortcomings of the previous NX models, they did sell and people bought them eventually whether with weaknesses, bugs or no bugs, no firmware fix for a bargain price. like the D800, despite having some QC issues, I'd bet people would buy it without hesitation if someone is selling it for $1500. but surely I'm not selling mine at that amount, lol.

with regards to my NX300 in-depth user review, my best guess-timate would be on the first week of May. as I have said since February, I am pretty booked this April, so I don't have much time right now doing tests and analysis. I have my NX300 though and been using it alongside the 2 Fuji's for a few weeks now. my initial impression is that the camera can hold it's own against the Fuji's and is a big step up to the previous NX models. I have a feeling the NX-R might be better. I would encourage people to do a field test or use of the camera since the experience is very different as oppose to trying it inside the store.
