Thanks for the replies! And yes I've told them..( the proverbial "them">wife, kids, grandma etc.), to push the shutter button only half way down, look for the "green" and listen for the signal indicating in focus, THEN, push the shutter button the rest of the way down...

But you are correct, that's probably what they are doing..( or I guess not doing correctly).

And hopefully setting the camera in iAuto mode will also help.
