Holding a camera, any camera, reduces my blood pressure, calms my nerves, and gives me a sense of opportunity!

I think Creation would be a more realistic description than Capture.

Creation encompasses the whole process from start to finish, (wherever you start, wherever you finish). As i see it Capture is one part of the creation, the Capture being the stored data in the raw file or the unprocessed negative.

Actually, creation is horribly inaccurate. A photographer creates nothing. The scene already exists, the photons of lights reflected off the scene already exist, the camera already exists, etc. Even the editing of an image isn't creation, it's manipulation of information that already exists.

Any opinions I express are my own and do not represent DPReview.

I like Capture because it accurately describes the stage that we are mostly involved-in in the field: we capture photons from the scene, which get counted and stored in files in our cards - to be processed (ms or Ms) later so that we can perceive pleasing images on our output medium of choice.
