If I don't already own Sony 70-200G I would get the latest Sigma 70-200 OS HSM no brainer. Its at least as sharp as Sony if not more so, and in-lens OS really works (good for video too). A good way to test how sharp a lens is, is to put 1.4xTC on it and see how sharp (or soft) the image becomes. Sigma is bit sharper when I side by side tested it against Sony with 1.4xTC.

For about half the cost of Sony and longer warranty Sigma is winning many happy users. Some of my Canon/Nikon friends couldn't say enough good thing about it.

Well, I hope you're right about the Sigma's IQ. But it's not half the cost of the Sony. At Amazon today (April 20, 2013) the Sony is $2000 and the Sigma is $1250.

I remember I saw Sigma on sale for $1100 a few months ago, at that time Canon was $2300, Nikon was $2100 and Sony was $2000. So "about" half price to OEM prices I guess. Is it the same lens you ordered? I hope you will be happy with it, and let us know what you think. Cheers!
