Correct, same as before, annoying, but if you set manual focus assist to normal (neither 5x or nor 8x), and turn focus peaking on, you can enable/disable focus peaking by pressing the "ok" button.  If you set manual focus assist to 5x or 8x then when you press "ok" it zooms in and will use focus peaking if it is enabled.

The thing to keep in mind is focus peaking is only enabled when you are in your manual focus assist mode (unlike the NEX which is enabled all the time).  I am not sure I like the focus peaking as much as the NEX, but at least it is easy to turn on/off, but will have to try it with some telephoto lenses and such.
