I'm looking at a lot of forums and websites and almost everyone is knocking the NEX system for their lenses. They all say that the lenses aren't great at all. Any merit to that statement? Cause I had been leaning towards the OMD EM5, but then I handled the NEX6 in store today and liked it, plus the fact that its a good $300-$400 cheaper doesn't hurt either But now with this possible lens issue, I'm not sure again lol

Personally, I'm tired of talking about the fanboy-ish nature of many m43ers, their insecurity that APS-C mirrorless competition will make them irrelevant, which then manifests as relentless politicking against other systems (particularly the price-competitive NEXs)... and this now-perpetuated Big Lie that 1) m43 lenses are all great, 2) the NEX lenses all suck, and 3) and there are lots of m43 lenses while there are no NEX lenses.

I think the proof lies in the pudding.

You can look for yourself and see what looks better.  Or conclude that there is no significant difference whatsoever.

Agree on every point. There are psychological issues on m4/3 forum, I call it people with small sensor complex. The myths about m4/3 and other systems are psychological props they need to fend off the feelings of insecurity.

..but they and fuji do have better lenses available - at least you admit that.

The more that you talk, the more that you show your colors. Better stop while you are behind ....

I agree with the mature Nex posters, m43 posts in this forum are, well, just what they are, pitiful at best.

what is your point here.  you say all m43 posts in this forum are pitiful.  do you stand by that?  the one m43 poster appears to present very thoughtful points backed by supporting evidence.  then i see you name calling and claiming, 'nex users don't post in the m43 forum' - followed by nex users saying yes they do.

also then what does this have to do with another format having a better lineup of lenses?  we can make a list if you wish -there are already a few in this forum.

As soon as I see balanced posts appearing, I will shut up.

Seeing repeated post that m43 (positive) and Nex (negative) is just fodder to me.

It prompts Nex users to then point out m43 (negative) and Nex (positive) which is defensive.

If a post is balanced, it will get a very different response.

I came close to just picking up an OM-D EM-5 to post some side-by-side experiences of both cameras, to just stop all the fodder.

Getting the most of your gear (what this forum should be about) is very different than my-gear-is-better-than-yours (which is constantly being put forth by m43 users here).

Why, if someone posts a question about a Nex camera related to an m43 camera, do m43 users come to post in the Nex forum, specifically if the SAME question was already posted by the SAME user in the m43 forum?

Every time again the Nex-forum posts became like this back and forth - and it doesn't belong here. And yes, the moderators have come in repeatedly to remove these endless silly back and forth threads.

I'd be happy to go over to the m43 forum and place a question mark behind every post that I see there, and post evidence of mistakes being portrayed there (and there are many) - but why?
