OS shouldn't be an issue

I wanted to update the firmware in my 7D to 2.0.3,  but the canon site  said their is no software available to be downloaded on windows 8.  Am I just missing something, or is there really no way to upgrade firmware on my computer?  Is there a workaround?

The OS should be all but immaterial.  The best procedure is to simply download the firmware file from Canon, attach a CF reader to your PC, format a CF card in your camera, plug the card into your reader, then copy the firmware file to the root of the CF card (NOT into one of the directories) once the card is recognized.  Then, eject the card from the PC and insert it into your camera and follow Canon's update process closely (as I'm sure you have with previous firmware releases).

Good luck... should be very simple.
