not really.. the 60mm and the 85 focus mechanically with the 85 showing a distance scale but you're right that any other is focused by wire.

Exactly, and they still exhibit the same behavior when you power cycle. I was having that issue with the 60mm the other day (it happens if you leave the camera sitting too long too).

The only cheap way is to use a legacy manual lens via adapter

This definitely seems like the easiest way.  Also, it would be nice if maybe Samsung had a firmware option to lock lens position or something (or something to keep it from resetting every time the camera powers on).
