i have literally soaked my 24-120mm in rain, snow and used in sand

Note that 24-120mm was being heavily rebated earlier. So was D600 back in Nov/Dec and who knows when again. Its a matter of timing and luck. As others have said D600 is more than 6D in every way.

Buying a body based on a single lens is not the brightest thing to do either either, especially for a dark rainy forest.
