If someone has other suggestions for storing digital photo archive for amateurs I'm all ears. I'm still trying to find ways to make it easier cheaper and less time consuming.

Should solve the problem.  And the "about to be released" DVD version is supposed to be write-able on any BluRay DVD burner.  I'm looking into this for archival purposes, myself.
