I'm sure there are others but I have my catalog on one computer yet there are times I would like to process images via my laptop. Now I could put it all on an external HD and then pass it around which ever computer I want to process on but that's just inconvenient.

If ONLY they could figure out or rather redo their catalog structures to be able to use networked catalogs, now that WOULD be hugely welcome (If I'm correct, that would mean getting off sqllite).

I don't use lightroom, but why can't you map the network share as a drive and point lightroom at it?

Why can't I? I have no idea but Lightroom doesn't like it so no, unfortunately, that isn't the solution.

If I remember correctly, the reasoning is that when LR was designed, it was never designed for multii-access and thus their database choice (sqlite) isn't really up to the task. All this to say that they still don't have networked shares because of how their catalogs were designed.

Maybe one day...
