Anyone has performance issue Delock firewire CF reader with Sandisk Extreme Pro CF cards?
In long time of searching, I finally got Firewire CF reader. It's Delock's one.
I have ordered two of them. One of myself and other one for insurance. Well, if you are photographer work on field, your stuffs may be lost or damaged time to time.
After long time of waiting of delivery, I also ordered new CF cards from Sandisk. Extreme Pro 32GB and 16GB. It seems like finest CF card line from Sandisk. I used Extreme 2 before and their performance is 30MB/sec which is slower than CF reader's speed.
When my CF readers arrive, I had test using BlackMagic software. It is giving me 30MB/s of write and 20MB/s of read. It is far out from my expectation. From card reader review page, it is 77MB/s of transfer speed.
So, I asked seller of card reader, www.memorydepot.com and Sandisk about this issue. As usual, both of them says it's not their product's problem. Engineer of memorydepot says it's different control chip of Sandisk memory than other memories. Sandisk support says their control chip is same and issue was incompatible card reader.
However, two of CF cards are fast as I expected if I do test using USB3.0 reader with Windows laptop.
So, I think it is more about Delock's card reader problem rather than Sandisk CF. I need to return them to seller. But I am wondering is there any other people has same issue as mine. I really expect this firewire CF reader will give me faster transfer. So, it is quite disapointed.
If you are using this CF reader, is it working well?
