Jalywol's posts are always interesting. While I'm sure the G5 isn't her thing, based on her valid reasoning, the camera sure does it for me. I had a GH2 and consider the G5 the better camera. It's fun to use, takes great pictures and pairs up beautifully with my 45-150 or 100-300mm. It was inexpensive enough that I bought a second one.

I was very surprised at my experience, actually.

I have been a GH2 fan for quite a while, and I think the G5 does much better in terms of color and higher ISO performance than the GH2.  I actually think it's a very good camera; I just had difficulty with the click wheel, something that others with slightly larger hands might not have a problem with at all.

Where my surprise came in was in how much better the GH3 sensor performed in difficult situations; that was truly a head scratcher for me.  When I used the GH2 and the GH3 simultaneously for a little while I did think the GH3 did a number of things better, but I hadn't really done a side by side comparison, or used them in lower light.  When the G5 came along, I did, and it was a pretty significant difference.

I just hope that Panny brings this sensor technology, whether it buys it from Sony, or generates it in house, to more products in their line, since it really does have some advantages if you want to shoot at lower light/higher ISO settings.
