I must say sgoldswo took all of this criticism like a real gentleman. Yes I'm sorry the pictures aren't very good but that's ok. Its a good start. Personally I think no personal photos should be allowed on this forum unless that accompany a statement and they are an example of what the statement is about, like say lens vignetting or a quality review of a lens. Why do people who come here and chat back and forth about the merits of a camera or system have to be subject to the egotistical photographers who think anything they put up here should be considered great work or in fact why do they assume anyone cares? Isn't Instagram, Flickr and Tumbler just to name a few enough. And they are basically photo sites. Spare us the pain and put pictures on photo sharing sites where they belong.

Challenge yourself and learn how to use the camera , by posting snapshots you are doing yourself disservice , the net is full of unedited mediocrity why add to it. Show a great shot and the responses will be different.

Thanks, I'll live. This place would be a lot duller place if no one published photos here unless they were related to a camera etc.

I know some like them but I hate the posts obsessing over 100% detail etc, particularly when that turns on the way a particular RAW converter works (at that point in time). I have more time for stuff that's a permanent feature (e.g. properties of a lens) but that doesn't mean that people can't post stuff that's just photos from the camera. If you think its average and others agree it will soon disappear from page 1.

I write all manner of posts on my blog (by way of example) oftentimes I'll write a review of a camera or a lens. If its a particular brand, say, Olympus, that results in many thousands of hits on my blog in a particular day. But often, I might think more myself of the post that relates to the trip to the museum that gets a 100 hits. Oddly, I might even get more comments on the trip to the museum. Or it might turn out I accidentally shot someone's proposal and they tracked down the photo

To get back to the point, if people didn't post random photos they have taken here, I wouldn't bother with looking at this forum. I don't think I'm the only one.

In any event, thank you for accepting my apology.
