40-150 vs. 75-300 vs. 100-300 Pictures

I've been using the Olympus 40-150 R and panasonic 100-300 for a while, on Panasonic GH2/3 and Olympus OM-D cameras. Just got the Olympus 75-300 II this week. Here is a size comparison.

I've been making comparison shots with and OM-D set to jpeg. Here are the 3 lenses, at 100mm. wide open.

Olympus 75-300 II

Panasonic 100-300

Olympus 40-150

Then the two lenses at 300mm, wide open.

Olympus 75-300

Panasonic 100-300

Looks like the 75-300 is sharpest lens at 100. Also compared it with the 40-150 at 75mm (pics not here), and the the latter lens was a little sharper in the center, but noticeably softer at the edges.

With the 300mm comparisons, I'm not seeing enough of a difference to go for one lens over the other just on that basis. Other factors would be more important.

Hope to do more field shots with the Mk. II now that the weather is nice around here.
