Following Shotcents comment about his audio cables and for those who are wondering what does audio have to do with photography:

It states the following: "I think audiophiles and photographers (professional and amateur) have much in common"

I agree!

Yep....and most certainly, we are willing to pay large amounts of money for small and often questionable differences.

I know not a single "practical audiophile."

I do know one "practical photographer": a woman who does wedding work in the tri-state area. She owns a D700 and a D300. She has a set of older lenses and zero interest in getting better ones unless something dies. To her the differences between these 85mm primes are laughable because they don't add up to a difference in her income one way or the other and they all do a good job. Her work is excellent. Generally, with her D300 and a battered 35-70 AF-D mounted, she takes better photos than most of the people here.

While I pixel peeped myself into oblivion over which landscape lens to buy, she gave me a Audubon Society book on landscape photography. I'm awful at landscape photography! The book is a heck of a lot more useful than the lens choice I made.

It aint the gear. Never was. Never will be.

But the 85 1.8G is the best 85.
