I've shot a bit of indoor ice hockey with my T2i and canon 70-200 2.8 IS II.  I'll upload some photos here later when I get home (pics not on this pc).  I found it to be adequate using center AF point and one shot focusing but the high ISO is a bit of a problem unless you only plan to print 4x6 or display low res pics for social media.  I also have shot indoor volleyball with good results with the combo but with volleyball I had to use 3200-6400 ISO to even get 1/200 shutter speeds at times.  Indoor youth and high school sports seem to be poorly lit.

There's actually a great recent adorama learning video with gavin hoey on youtube that specifically talks about shooting hockey with a canon 70-200.  He's using a 5d2 for the video but there's still great advice in there.
