In terms of POTENTIAL IQ, the D800/E is THE BEST DSLR on the planet at this moment in time. Unless you're a pro sports photographer you can learn to live with 4FPS. Any irritation will be long gone once you learn to work the D800/E to it's potential. That requires good lenses and some dedication to learn, but if you want the best you can buy it, right now.

The D7100 is a nice consumer camera that has a great sensor. But it's no D800/E.
