Re: Lightroom to Photoshop and Back

Once you've taken a file into Photoshop, made some edits there and then saved it, it will show up back in Lightroom right next to the file it "came from".  From there, you can continue to use Lightroom's Develop module to make further modifications on the TIF or PSD.

If you choose to re-open that file in Photoshop, you will have the option of opening the "original", which will preserve your existing layers, or opening a "copy with Lightroom adjustments".  Unless you choose the latter, the additional changes you've made with Lightroom will not be applied.  Unfortunately, this also means you will get a new TIF or PSD and it will be a flattened file.  When you save it in Photoshop, it will be given a unique name and you'll find it shows up in Lightroom right next to the other edited file.
