I don't know why people need to run so many shots through the camera to test them. If you video the test of a shorter burst you can time when the camera starts and stops writing to the card by the indicator light to one video frame precision, e.g. 1/30s and then figure out the speed of writing to the slot.

The thread started about the D300s and I have to say that the performance writing to a Sandisk Extreme 45mb/s SD card was suspicious. After maybe 45-60 seconds averaging a shot per second I was already waiting on the buffer clearance. This shouldn't really happen as my average bandwidth of shooting should have been less than 15mb/s.
