First Wedding, advice for 50mm 1.8D lens

In response to you, the OP does not need confidence what he needs is experience. And by that I don’t mean learning at the risk of another person’s wedding. I am not a mechanic so if I have confidence, am I ready to replace your cars engine?   He needs to start by assisting a professional and work into shooting along a professional. Even with that he will need proper equipment to start if he plans to have the professional use the images. Suggesting to the OP to use a 55-200 and shoot at 5.6 and shoot the flash at 45 degree angle makes no sense because you don’t know the location or what kind of bounce surface they will have or even if a flash will be allowed.  Also 5.6? I am not sure what to even say about all of this. Too much of this makes no sense for me to even try to put together. Like I said.... experience.
