I sold my 28-105 along with five other lenses to fund the 24-120/4. Here's a set from each, all on a D700.

28-105D  (9 images)

24-120/4  (41 images)

The 28-105 is a great size and weight, but needs a lot of light as it's slower and needs more stopping down. With careful use and good processing it can make nice images. The macro and price make it well worth the asking price, but it needs a companion prime more often than the 24-120/4
