Are there any "rules" for using ISO?

Re: Are there any "rules" for using ISO?

I was using Av most of the time until I wasn't getting fast enough shutter speeds, so switched to shutter-priority.  That is when I began having trouble with exposure, and made some wrong turns in the process!

As I already explained, you cannot change the AMOUNT of exposure required under a specific brightness of light and ISO sensitivity...

... by changing whether the MODE of exposure setting leaves you to deal with shutter OR aperture.

Just as it is always the same AMOUNT of miles to the your local supermarket whether your MODE of travel is by car or push-bike.

Does that make the principle any clearer?
