Funny, I've been a armature/sometimes pro photographer for thirty years and I seem to have managed perfectly fine without focus peaking.

I've had my X-E1 for about three months now and I am taking photos with it without any issues at all. In fact it was well exceeded all my expectations. The IQ out of it is remarkable and all done without focus peaking.

If you think focus peaking will make you a better photographer, then perhaps for you it will.
