Anyone else still using a T1i?

I know two people who still use T1i.

My fiance and I still use the T1i, she really likes the size/performance. With the release of the new cannon SL1 - this may change soon :)

The T1i is my first and only dSLR. It is a gift from my daughter and I resist replacing it since it is still "running " just fine.

Attached is a portrait of a spider who was cooling himself after a brief shower. As you can see the T1i takes all sorts of portraits. (Forgive the slightly off focus result. That was the photographer and not the camera.

Take a look at the "Bluebirds" thread that Fish Chris has posted here. A great advert for the camera, lens & most of al the photographer.

My friend owns one, along with his 5Dmkii and his 60D. It's his backup BACKUP camera haha. I borrowed his when I first got into digital photography and for my first shoot! It's a great camera and cheap on Craiglist, I'd buy one if I had the money for filming / backup purposes.

I still have a T1i that I use as a back-up / light weight, smallish / travel-hiking cam / wife's camera companion to my 5D3. It takes fine photos, if used well, mindful of its characteristics and limitations. I haven't been persuaded that any of the more recent T's are enough of an improvement to make me part with my money. I have my eye on the SL1, though: Smaller, lighter, updated sensor, DIGIC, etc. Is it really enough of an improvement over my T1i?

I still have my T1i (or 500D in my case) which I bought cheap as a refurb just over a year ago. It's my first DSLR but as a replacement for all my old film gear I'm very pleased with it.

I know the sensor is little old now but tbh, it's only the 550D (T2i) that really bettered it in any significant way, everything since then has just been a tweak - so I tend to feel like it's only one "behind" so to speak.

A very capable camera as far as I'm concerned.

I still have the 500D (my first DSLR) and I'm not intending to replace it any time soon. I'm certainly happy with its performance.

The T1i is still our primary camera. Our backup is a 450D. I shoot RAW, so the T2i-T4i sensor upgrades are really pretty minor. It still does great work and we're still gradually adding to the lens collection, but I honestly don't feel any need to upgrade bodies until Canon actually overhauls the sensor or we need better DSLR video.

I do run Magic Lantern on it.

Interesting, alright I'm glad I'm not the only one. Thanks
Don't worry about the old body, i still have mine from 3 years ago...
Just make sure to pair it with nice lenses, the image quality is not much different from another crop sensor...

Still using it. I am trying to decide on wether I should upgrade the glass (kit, 50-1.8) or go to 7d.

i'm planning to upgrade this year, it would be full frame. i don't plan to update to another apsc series since it doesn't give me much different in term of image quality. i shoot mainly portrait and landscape.

Absolutely, if and when I upgrade to another canon DSLR it will be a full frame model. The 500D is still in spitting distance of the whole APS-C range at least in terms of stills, yes there had been improvements and other bodies may have better handing etc but at APS-C level there's nothing night and day about it. Coming from a recent film background, the only thing the 500D really lacks for me is that 35mm sensor behind the shutter.

Wow, I'm still using a 450D and love it!
I just sold my 450D a few months ago after upgrading to T3i and was always impressed with what that camera could do with 12.2 mp.

It's nice to say that nice pictures are nice.

some 1,000 clicks a month, and gets wonderful results with the 15-85 lens.
