They are expensive and I am waiting for Olympus.

What makes you think those from Olympus are going to be cheaper.

I`m waiting to see what Olympus come up with, for the simple point there lens offering could be smaller.

Could be cheaper, but maybe not.

Could be smaller, but maybe not.

Could be better quality, but could be poorer quality.

Could appear this year, or the next, or the next.

In the meantime, for those of us who are thoroughly enjoying using the 12-35mm on a daily basis, it's definitely worth it.. And it didn't cost much either once I factored in the money made from lenses I no longer used regularly that were sold.

Without any official announcement from Olympus it is all guesses and rumors.  If the Olympus lens(s) do come out here is my guesses:

1. Very close to the same price as the Panasonic, but will cost more when you include the lens hood and case in with the price.

2. Slightly smaller but still will take 58mm filters, since the next size standard mtf filter size is 52 and that is too small.

3. Just might have slightly better image quality or atleast at some focal lengths it is better and at other focal lengths not as good.

4.  Might be a slower lens with a 2.8-4.0 f-stops, but could be a straight 2.8

Anyhow, I do have the excellent prime lenses that are serving me well and I don't immediatley need a fast normal lens so the primes and the 12-50 kit lens are doing just fine.  So I am just in the waiting and hoping mode.  If I did need a fast normal zoom now I would have no trouble buying the 12-35.
