You can get better with practice. At 8 fps I can keep fast moving subjects in the frame until the buffer fills although I rarely use the camera that way. I generally find 3-5 frame bursts more useful than just letting it rip away. With birds flying irregularly I find it difficult to keep it in the frame even while shooting single shots with an optical viewfinder. With birds it's better to zoom out a bit rather than trying to keep the frame full and crop afterwords.
