D800 Firmware Update Focus Improvement!

As I posted in my AF test thread, there is ZERO DOUBT that the FW has effected AF for the better. I've been shooting in every bad light I can find (and some good light too!) and thus far the D800 is focusing on par with a D700/D3.

Lenses tested-the 50 and 85 gave me the most trouble before the FW update:

50mm 1.8G = 2 errors out of about 30 shots

85mm 1.8G = 2 errors out of 24 shots

Tokina 16-28 2.8 = No errors out of 20 shots.

The reality is that the 4 errors were two sequences of 2, so it's really just two focus errors doubled.

Again, focused shots are not "proof" but I know what I know. I'd typically have a minimum of 10-15 shots OOF out of a group like this using these lenses in poor/mixed lighting. Tungsten mixed with a secondary light source was the worst.

I'm VERY HAPPY at the moment!
