I think your assumption is inherently flawed.  Professional photographers, don't always use a FF camera for every shot, or for every type of photography.  Many weddings are shot with less than FF, as are news photography and travel photography.  Many professional photographers, may make sure they have access to a FF camera, but they also make sure they have appropriate access to all the tools they need.  It's just a smart thing to do.

And should professional requirements be used for amateur photographers who are serious about their photography?
