Question About K5 AF Adjustment
First, make sure you have the latest firmware installed, the last version (1.1.14?) has significant AF improvements which also affect AF micro-adjustments.
To test, I take an old newspaper and lay it flat, and shoot it with the camera at an angle of about 30 degrees. To make sure i'm focusing at the same point, i tear a small section and fold it vertically, so that it's parallel to the film plane. Do this in daylight, without using artificial light.
When you're in focus, the text on your "AF" target is sharp, and so is the text at the foot of the target. It's much easier to see if you're back-focused or front focused, as the sharp lines of text will show a little in front or behind your target.
Don't forget, firmware first!
