But I have not heard of any issues between Sigma and Nikon for a long time.

I own three Sigma lenses and I ended up sending all three of them back to Sigma for different compatibility issues.

Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5~5.6 (Original Version)  AF-On incompatibility with the D200.

Sigma 28mm f/1.8 ED Exposure issue with the D200.

Sigma 180mm f/3.5 EX macro "Anti-focusing" Live View with the D800.

Sigma USA fixed all three quickly and for no charge, albeit with a minor shipping Snafu.  However, I was just corresponding with another dpreview poster who wasn't as lucky with their 180mm f/3.5.  From reviews and comments I've seen, it seems like in the last 2-3 years Sigma offerings have moved upscale in both quality and price, but I no first-hand experience with the newer stuff.

I miss the days when I used to be nostalgic.
