Does the XF1 'orb' like the X10?
... I'd assume so because it uses the X10's sensor but I ask because it seems only mentioned on the Pocket-lint review here: http://www.pocket-lint.com/review/6039/fujifilm-xf1-high-end-compact-camera-review
Its not something I would worry about to be honest.
Fuji just like any other manufacture get caught out every once in a while with un noticed QA problems, recently its happened to Olympus with cracked bezels and Nikon with oil on sensors.
It was never that much of an issue but it was big enough and common enough to effect a fair few users.
It would be very unlikely to find this problem in this newer camera even though it does share the same sensor.
