The G15 As A Street Camera. Some Thoughts And Pictures

Took the G15 instead of my Rebel 650D on a trip to NYC. Had taken the G12 there last year. I have to say, the G15 did a great job. I was initially apprehensive about not bringing the Rebel but I really did not want to schlep a heavy camera bag loaded with lenses.

The G15 is fast in operation and focus. It runs circles around the G12. Small, light, great ergonomics, silent and discreet. In other words, an ideal street camera. I did have a few (but relatively minor) issues. The macro focus is extremely inconsistent and hard to acquire. The face detect does not always work and there is an occasional misfocus, likely related to my shooting style... snapping pictures while in motion.

In summation, if anyone is considering an upgrade from a G10 or G12, the G15 is a no-brainer. For those interested in street photography and researching cameras, keep this high on your list.

And now, some photos. The Optical Viewfinder was used for some of these.

If you liked this set let me and I will post a few more.

Regards.
