Once one has satisfactory performance in hand and other purchase possibilities (or spending priorities) open up, it becomes more difficult to justify a new camera body.  For many here their photographic opportunities might be more effectively broadened by a lens purchase...or by taking a workshop...or by taking a trip to recharge their batteries.  It is true that the D7100 gives one greater capability, but it doesn't stop at just the body: as I've noted before, ya gotta add in the accessory cost as well.

Nevertheless, I like the new puppy.
