Lens adaptor (noob) advice.

Just out of curiosity I'd like to pick up some character lens, such as the Rokkor 58mm for its great bokeh. There are a lot of cheap lens I can pick up & play with without spending $100's

However, I've never used a lens adaptor & i am slightly unsure of what to look for.

1) I understand that aperture control is not possible, but may be if i get the right sort of adaptor.

2) I understand that I need a brand->e mount specific adaptor (such as konica AR > Emount)

Given this, what would be a good starting point?

I mean what brand lenses will give me a good choice of cheap & quirky lens AND also there will be an adaptor so i can adjust aperture.

Do you have any specific suggestions for a starting point? First up I would be interested in something like the rokkor, but it doesnt have to be minolta, any brand - i use this as an example.
